Vehicle Description 1965 Sunbeam Tiger Convertible.
This is an all original 28,000 mile Unrestored 1965 Sunbeam Tiger, aka Baby Cobra.
Both Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles built a prototype of the Tiger for Rootes Group and after thorough testing Mr.
Shelby's design was chosen to go into production.
Shelby collector Wayne Curry found and bought this car from the original owner in 1983, when it had 24,000 original miles.
He entered the car into numerous Ford and Shelby events over the following 20 years, and the car was photographed and wrote up for an article in Muscle Cars magazine in 1993.
It also has a Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association certificate of authenticity.
This numbers matching car is wearing most of its original Carnival Red paint.
The paint finish is consistent throughout and shows very well.
The glass including the windshield is the original Triplex, date coded from 1964.
The Tiger features a set of rare original LAT 9 wheels, mounted on original UniRoyal Tiger Paw redline tires that are used only for show.
These tires were put on the car in 1968 since the original owner had to have Tiger Paws on her Tiger.
It also comes with a set of modern Mini-lite style wheels and tires.
The Ford 260 V8 is matching numbers and has never been out of the car, and with the exception of the distributor cap, coil and wires, everything in this engine bay is original.
The car shows its original yellow stripe vacuum hose, and herringbone heater hoses, neither of which are available as reproductions.
JAL tag, cowl tag rivets, and valve cover sticker are all undisturbed.
The car retains its original Toploader transmisssion (HEH-E tagged), date coded bellhousing, date coded Dana 44 rear, date coded 2V carburetor etc.
It has the Tiger specific fuel pump access door.
There is no indication of rust anywhere on the car, zero.
Nice original details everywhere you look.
Good fit and finish, body lines and gaps are all dead on.
Lights and lenses are all in great shape The trunk is untouched, the fibe.
